Decorah- Van O. M. Butler, 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, in the Aase Haugen Home following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Congregational United Church of Christ, by the Rev. Matthew Perkins. Burial: Phelps Cemetery, with full military honors. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Fjelstul Funeral Home, Decorah, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Gertrude Barth of Decorah and Carol Fish of Anamosa; a son, Steven of Decorah; and a sister, Gertrude Cooper of St. Louis.
