Decorah- Vera L. Jewell, 97, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, in her home after a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, First United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Carol Kress. Burial: Phelps Cemetery. There will be no visitation; her body was cremated. Arrangements with Fjelstul Funeral Home, Decorah.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Hall and Addine Vigdahl, both of Beloit, Wis., and Betty McPeck of Clinton; and three sons, Kenneth Stewart of Clermont, Howard Stewart of Marshalltown and Richard Weller of Beloit, Wis.
