Postville Review, Fri., 29 Nov. 1907.

Wednesday, while the mother was washing clothes, the baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Larson, residing north of Burr Oak, met with a shocking accident which terminated fatally, says the Decorah Journal. The little one had crept to the stove, when in some manner, we know not how, one of the stove legs came off, the stove careening to one side and precipitating a boiler of scalding hot water upon the boy. The burns of the child were frightful, and after lingering until Thursday, he passed away at 7 p.m.

(NOTE: An apparent reference to Philip Larson, son of Ed and Rose Larson. There is a photo of Philip's gravestone in St. Agnes Church Cemetery on the IGPP.)
