SYLVAN L. LENTH

Sylvan L. Lenth, 72, of 313 32nd Street, NE, Cedar Rapids, IA; died Thursday in Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Martin Miller of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church officiated.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen; a daughter, Karan Andersen of Marion; two sons, Leslie of Las Vegas and James of Frankville; and two sisters, Darlene Szkudlarek and Mickey Burns, both of Ocala, Fl; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was born January 12, 1919, in Elkader, IA. He married Ellen Braley on January 19, 1989, in Las Vegas, NV. He farmed near Frankville until his retirement and then did road construction work. He was a member of the Marion Senior Center and served in the CCC.

Memorial donations may be made to Kenwood Park United Methodist Church.
