Decorah- Walter O. Stoen, 89, rural Decorah, died Monday in Barthell Eastern Star Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Thea; three sons, Harold of Spring Grove, Minn., Darrell of Decorah, and Ronald of Des Moines; a sister, Cora Orvella of Decorah; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Big Canoe Lutheran Church, rural Decorah. Burial: church cemetery. Friends may call beginning today at 4 p.m. at Fjelstul's and Thursday after 10 a.m. at the church.
