Ossian- Ruben C. Schutte, 71, of Decorah, formerly of the Ossian-Castalia area, died Monday in Rochester (Minn.) Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness. Services: 11 a.m. today, Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia. Burial: Pleasant View Cemetery, Castalia. Schutte Funeral Home, Postville, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie; two sons, Dean of Caledonia, Minn., and Charles of Wheaton, Ill.; three daughters, Linda Crain of Cresco, and Kathryn Tollefson and Marsha Phillips, both of Decorah; a brother, Harry of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; and two sisters, Ethel Meyer of Ossian and Doris Schutte of Postville.
