MRS. T.E. RYAN PASSES SATURDAY
FORMER WAUKON RESIDENT DIES AT OSSIAN HOME OF PNEUMONIA

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Ossian for Mrs. Thomas E. Ryan, who passed away at her home Saturday after a siege of pneumonia.

Mr. and Mrs. Ryan are well known in Waukon and Lansing having lived in the community at number of years.

Aleda Applen was born at Bradley, S.D., Dec. 6, 1904, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Applen. May 4, 1920 she married Thomas Ryan at Canton, Minn.

They moved from Harmony. Minn., where Mr. Ryan was employed, to Waukon, where he worked at the Anderson Produce company and later operated a restaurant in Waukon. From Waukon the family moved to Lansing where Mr. Ryan was manager of the Interstate Power company for a number of years, moving back to Waukon about 1930, when he was employed by the Interstate Power company in this city.

The Ryans later moved to Monona and for several years have made their home in Ossian where he manages the Interstate Power Company.

Mrs. Ryan is survived by her husband and three children, Constance, Richard and James. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. H.C. Rhodes and Mrs. Helma Quinn of Tracy, Minn., and Mrs. Walter Jacobson of Harmony, Minn., and one brother, O.H. Applen of Harmony.

The Rt. Rev. .Monsignor M.J. Thiltgen, DD, pastor of the St. Francis de Sales Church, sang the requiem mass. Burial was made in the Calvary Cemetery at Canton. Minn.
