Tonya Rachael Leas, 45, of Monona, Iowa died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Crossing Rivers Health, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She was born October 3, 1968 to Gerald and Judy (English) Swehla in Decorah, Iowa. Tonya graduated from Thomas Roberts High School in Decorah and NEICC in Calmar for nursing.

Tonya was united in marriage with Ron Leas and was later divorced. She worked as a nurse and on the river with her fiancé, Tony McCarthy. Tonya enjoyed scrapbooking, puzzles, flower gardens, knitting, hunting mushrooms, studying Hebrew, convertible mustangs, her puppies and most of all, her grandchildren.

Tonya is survived by her fiancé, Tony McCarthy of Monona; her children, Travis (Megan) Leas of Waterville, Nathan Leas of Waterville and Cody McCarthy of Monona; three grandchildren, Wyatt, Justin and Kaden; her mother and father, Judy (Nanferd) Felke of Waukon; two step-daughters, Megan McCarthy of Minneapolis and Casandra McCarthy of Belmont, Wisconsin; a sister, Paulette Heying, of Oelwein and two brothers, Scott Swehla of Waverly and Paul Swehla of Sand Stone, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Jamie (Jessie), Akaesha (Steve), Tyler, Tony, Kaitlyn, Indigo and Peter and great-nephews, Blayne and Carson and many cousins.

Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Swehla.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Monona, Iowa and one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Living Faith United Methodist Parish in Monona, Iowa with Rev. Dennis Hopes as the Officiant.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.
