Patrick M. Ingvoldstad, 70, of Colfax, Wis., went to be with his Lord and Savior April 8, 2014. Memorial services were at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave. in Colfax, with Pastor George Schweitzer officiating. Visitation was 10-11:30 a.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Military honors were conducted by Russell-Toycen American Legion Post 131. Inurnment is at a later date in Decorah. Patrick was born in Waukegan, Ill., to Carsten and Beth (McClannahan) Ingvoldstad, April 29, 1943. The family moved to Decorah in 1953, and he graduated from Decorah Community High School in 1961. Pat studied technical drafting at Dunwoody Institute from 1962 to 1964, and worked as a mechanical draftsman in Minneapolis and St. Paul after the Army. He joined the Army in July of 1964, and served time in Saigon, Vietnam, where he was acknowledged with medals. He married Mary Jane Hodsdon June 29, 1968, and lived in St. Paul and Inver Grove Heights, Minn. He continued his education at Concordia College in St. Paul, where he earned his elementary teaching degree and taught in Rosemount, Minn. In 1984, he was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency and lived and worked in Maryland for 24 years. He retired in June of 2006, and moved to Colfax, Wis., to be closer to family. Patrick loved God and read the Bible daily. He had many hobbies including painting, running, gardening, coaching, playing softball, shooting hoops, watching sports (Go Vikes!) and spending time with his grandchildren.

Patrick is survived by his daughters, Stacey (Mike) Lee of Colfax, Wis. and Danielle (Bob) Whebbe of Mendota Heights, Minn.; and five grandchildren: Isaac, Becca and Nate Lee, and Ethan and Cayden Whebbe. He also is survived by brothers, Carsten (Connie) Ingvoldstad of White Bear Lake, Minn. and Roger (Karen) Ingvoldstad of Aloha, Ore.; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and a great-great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carsten and Beth Ingvoldstad; and his sister, Mary Walton.
