Funeral services for Arthur C. Lynne, 80, retired Decorah City Street Department employee, were held Thursday, March 26, at First Lutheran Church with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Lynne died Tuesday, March 24, at his home at 602 Mechanic Street in Decorah.
Pastor John M. Ness conducted final rites. Pallbearers were Otis Tollefson, Carsten Erickson, Donald Rima, Elmer Engebretson, E.C. Landswerk and John Running.
Mrs. Wm. Kuhlman was organist for the services. Pastor Geo. Ulvilden was solist, and the congregation sang the hymn, "Beneath the Cross of Jesus."
Arrangements were made by Steine Funeral Home.
Arthur Lynne was born April 24, 1889 in Winneshiek County, the son of Edward and Kathryn Lynne. He attended rural schools.
He was married August 25, 1926 in West Union to the former Lillie Erickson.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Lydell (Lois) Hove of Princeton, Ill., three grandchildren, Lori, Erick, Beth at home, one brother, Gust Lynne of California and a sister, Mrs. Edna Erickson of Decorah.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and his parents.
Mr. Lynne was a life-long resident of Winneshiek County and of Decorah for the past 62 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
