Amber Irene Frey, 2 weeks old, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in Spring, Texas, of natural causes.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m., at Big Canoe Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, with the Rev. David Andreae officiating.

Connie Bolson was the organist. The congregation sang "Children of the Heavenly Father" and "Jesus Loves Me." The French & Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Amber Irene was born Dec. 19, 1996, in Spring, Texas, the daughter of Alan J. and Melissa (Rude) Frey. She was baptized by her mother just prior to her death.

Amber arrived home from the hospital 2 days old, eagerly awaited by all her Texas neighbors. Her parents said she was a perfect angel, and will be remembered that way.

Survivors include her parents, Alan and Melissa Frey of Spring, Texas; a brother, Nathan James Frey; grandparents DuWayne and Raffaela Rude, and Darlene Frey, all of Decorah; and great-grandparents Howard Rude, Leo and Emma Tollefson, and Madeline Frey, all of Decorah.

Amber Irene Frey was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Frey; and her great-grandparents, Jerry and Rosa Sindelar of Cresco, and Irene Rude of Decorah.
