Katherine Suchan, age 66, of Decorah, IA, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Wellington Place Nursing Home in Decorah, IA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Wellington Place Nursing Home with Deacon Nick Francios presiding. Burial will be in the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery in Ossian, Iowa in the Spring.

Friends may call from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m., at the Wellington Place Nursing Home.

Katherine Suchan was born on June 22, 1947, the daughter of Louis and Till (Etteldorf) Suchan in Dubuque, IA. Katherine was a special child . After living most of her adult life in Ossian, Iowa, she moved to Opportunity Homes in Decorah in 1988 and then became a resident of Wellington Place in 2009. She worked at Spectrum Industries Katherine loved magazines, music, cats, cutting coupons, and doing crafts. Katherine was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, Iowa.

Katherine is survived by her four brothers: Gerald (Becky) Suchan, Melbourne, IA; Philip (Krimi) Suchan, Springfield, MO; Joe (Mary) Suchan, Robins, IA; and Jim (Mary Jane) Suchan, Cedar Rapids, IA. One brother-in-law: Mike Ronan, Minneapolis, MN, along with many nieces and nephews.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Till (Etteldorf) Suchan. One brother: Eugene Suchan. One sister: Marilyn Ronan.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wellington Place Nursing Home for the loving care that Katherine has received over the years.
