Stanton J. Erickson, 80, retired Decorah farmer, passed away Tuesday morning, August 24, at the Winneshiek County Memorial hosptial. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 27, at 2 p.m. at Hauge Lutheran Church, with burial in Hauge Lutheran cemetery. The Rev. Virgil C. Haugen officiated at the services.

Pallbearers were Glen K. Larson, Kenneth Larson, Arnold Larson, Arthur Erickson, Truman Kirkeby, Chris Haugen. Steine Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Otto Ruen, organist, and Mrs. George Rowland, soloist, provided music.

Mr. Erickson was born on March 5, 1891, in Winneshiek County, the son of Hans and Julia Erickson. He attended rural schools. On May 12, 1915, he married Julia Amanda Haugen at Hauge Lutheran Church. They farmed in Winneshiek County until moving to Decorah in 1956. He was a member of Hauge Lutheran Church.

Mr. Erickson was preceded in death by his wife on June 4, 1968, and by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his children Stanton E. Erickson, Decorah, Mrs. Glen Larson (Kathleen), Decorah, Mrs Jon Vine (Shirley), Freeport, his sisters, Mrs. Theodore Narveson, Decorah, and Mrs. Selmer Larson, Decorah, and 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
