Josie M. Tollefson, 98, of Decorah, died July 26 at the Aase Haugen Home.

Services where held Monday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at the Decorah Lutheran Church, Pastors Alden H. Hovda and John V. Halvorson conducted the services. Organist was Diane Kvamme, accompanying congregational singing.

Fjelstul Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, with burial at the Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward W. Anderson, Martin C. Luren, Walter L. Nesheim, Burdette Wold, Lloyd Wohlford, and Eric Yarwood.

Josie Nelson was born April 1, 1888 at Elgin, Iowa, the daughter of Berner and Gunhild (Kittelson) Nelson. She attended rural schools in the Elgin area and married Olavus Tollefson on Jan. 24, 1912. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1946.

Survivors include a daughter, Gladys Tollefson of Decorah; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tollefson had been a homemaker all her life. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, ladies' aid and church circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, four sisters, and one foster sister.
