Howard H. Hahn, 82, of Decorah, died June 21 at Santa Ynez Valley Hospital in Solvang, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 27, at 2:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Decorah, with Pastor Glenn Kappelmann officiating. Organist was Florence Jowers, accompanying congregational singing. Songs were "Amazing Grace" and "What A Friend We Have in Jesus."

Fjelstul Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Marlin Bjerke, Lester Erickson Jr., Roger Erickson, Walter Hovey, James Roth and Gerald Young. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah.

Howard Hahn was born Aug. 7, 1906, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Edward and Mary (Thieman) Hahn. He attended Cedar Rapids public schools. He married Evelyn Erickson June 14, 1940, at the Lutheran parsonage in Bethany, Mo. He had lived in California since 1942 where he worked in the war effort in the shipyards. He then owned and operated his own radiator repair shop in Inglewood, Calif. He was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge and Lions Clubs, and the Al Malaikah Temple in Los Angeles, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; three children, John Hahn of Solvang, Christine Harper of North Hollywood, Calif.; four granddaughters; and one sister, Vivian Launer of Fruita, Colo.

Preceding him in death were his parents and four brothers and sisters.
