Cresco, Iowa Times January 5, 1871

FATAL ACCIDENT

A young man by the name of O'Brien was killed at Calmar, Monday night. He was trying to climb up a moving frieght car and slipped and fell. The car passed over both of his legs, severing them from his body. He lived about three hours. His parents live near Chatfield, Minn. He was a brother of Maggie O'Brien, who formerly lived in Cresco.
