Elgin Echo, Thur., 18 Nov. 1909. From the Decorah Journal, undated.

Saturday night Ossian was the scene of one of the saddest of many sad railroad accidents that have occurred in this county in the past few years. Oliver Qually, a young man between seventeen and eighteen years of age, after husking corn all day on his father's farm in Bloomfield township, drove into Ossian to get some groceries. As he was crossing the Milwaukee tracks the engine collided with his rig and caused his instant death. Two brothers, one about fifteen and the other thirteen years of age, who were with him, escaped uninjured. One jumped out, the other says he does not know how he escaped death with his brother. His death at the very threshold of manhood is an extremely sad tragedy.- Decorah Journal.
