Obituary.
Dies of Heart Failure and Drops From His Vehicle.

Last Thursday afternoon between four and five o'clock as Hans Anderson Tofte left Anderson's store, seated in his buggy, homeward bound, he was seized with an attack of apoplexy and fell from his buggy apparently lifeless. On reaching that portion of main street opposite Oyloe's Studio, onlookers noticed that Mr. Tofte had partly fallen from his buggy. The horse was immediately halted and Mr. Tofte taken into Oyloe's Studio, here he gasped once or twice - and all was over. The deceased was born in Solberg, Sondholand, Norway, December 21, 1839, and came to America July 3, 1862. April 2, 1868, he was united in marriage to Engeborg Paulson, which union was blessed with eight children, seven of whom together with their mother survive him, as follows: Andrew, Halvor, Mrs. Anna Jordahl, Mrs. Bertha Satre, Mrs. Stena Johnson, Mrs. Emma Satre and Miss Johanna. The burial took place Sunday at Stravanger (frame) church south of Ossian, Rev. P. S. Stenerson officiating. Rev. Stenerson delivered an English sermon at the house and one in Norwegian at the church. The funeral was largely attended - more than one hundred twenty-five teams having been in the procession - showing in the esteem in which the deceased was held. The entire community sympathizes with the bereaved family.
