Roger Kratz, age 83, of Ridgeway, IA, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at the Patty Elwood Center, Cresco, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Peace Lutheran Church, 745 County St., Ridgeway, IA, with Rev. Jeff Hanson presiding.

Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Tuesday morning.

Roger is survived by his wife: Patricia “Patty” Kratz, Decorah, IA, Three children: Gary (Jodee) Kratz, Farmington, MN; Nancy (wife of Commander Michael) Reddix, Colorado Springs, CO; Timothy (Suzanne) Kratz, Spring Branch, TX. Eight grandchildren: Laura Kratz, Eric (Stephanie Mimikos) Kratz, Kevin Kratz, Kyle Kratz, Emily Reddix, Jonathan Reddix, Brian (Holly Hargrove) Kratz, Daniel Kratz, and. One great grandchild: Jordana Mimikos-Kratz. Brother: Alan (Robin) Kratz, Velier, MT. Five brothers-in-law: Edward (Charilyn) Hover (Charilyn) Hover, Decorah, IA; David (Joan) Hover, New Prague, MNl; Dale (Mary) Hover, Cedar Falls, IA; Randy (Lori) Hover, Dorchester, IA; and Mark (Jean) Hover, Cresco, IA. Sisters-in-law: Vickie (Gary) Sovereign, Cresco, IA, LaDean Breisler, St. Paul, MN. Step Mother-in-law: Norma Hover, Decorah, IA. One step-brother: Alan Greene, Decorah, IA.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents: Herbert and Gladys (Hovden) Kratz. Brother: Duane Kratz. Two brothers-in-law: Quintin Hover and Don Breisler.
