Death of Charles Meyer
The people of the county will be shocked to hear of the death of Mr. Charles Meyer, one of the County Board of Supervisors, which took place at his home at Festina, on Saturday evening last.
Mr. Meyer was in attendance at the meeting of the Board of Supervisors last week, and went home on Saturday, in seeming good health. He played with the children a little while in the evening, and then went to bed. When his wife went to him soon afterward, he was dead.
Mr. Meyer was one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Festina, and was widely known and respected throughout the county. His death will occasion deep regret. He was a genial, accomodating man, and those longest and best acquainted with him esteemed him very highly.
He was Justice of the Peace, and besides being a prominent business man, was influential and enterprising in public matters.--Decorah Register.
