Erwin Sorenson, Decorah native, dies July 31

Memorial services were conducted Friday, August 6, at the Drury-Riley Funeral Home in Fountain, Minn. for Erwin Harris Sorenson, 65, formerly of Decorah. Services were conducted by the Rev. Gerald C. Stoppel of Fountain. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn. Mr. Sorenson died July 31.

Mr. Sorenson was born in Decorah on December 19, 1917. He worked in heavy construction and was a carpenter most of his life. He had served four years in the United States Army during World War II; three of which were spent in South Pacific. He was a member of the VFW.

Surviving him are Mrs. Leo (Clara) Tonne of Waterville, Minn.; Mrs. Edwin (Ethel) Vick of Decorah; Sylvester of Fountain, Minn.; Walter of Knoxville, Ia.; and Oscar, Ray and John Sorenson of Decorah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
