Mrs. Augustus Hanson, one of Decorah's beloved mothers passed to her eternal reward at her home in this city last Thursday afternoon. She was taken ill about a month ago with an acute attack of asthma, and later kidney trouble set in, the complication causing her to fail rapidly and she passed peacefully away at four o'clock Thursday afternoon.

She was united in marriage to Augustus Hanson in Decorah on June 24, 1866. To this union four children were born. They are Henry, who passed away in Montana January 1, 1918, Louis, Mrs. W.B. Coup and Mrs. W.H. Holmes, of Decorah, all of whom were at her bedside when she passed away.
Mrs. Hanson was a woman who was always held in the highest esteem by everyone who ever had the pleasure of her acquaintance. She was possessed of a beautiful character and to know her was to be her friend. During her long life here she was beloved by all as she was possessed of a generous heart and her kindly acts will live long after her. Besides the bereaved husband and childen she is survived by five brothers and one sister, Ole L. Nelson, Vienna, S.D.; Jacob and Nels Nelson, Grand Forks, N.D.; William and Severt Nelson and Mrs. Clara Faaburg, who reside near Sattre, and to them the sympathy of all is extended.
