Friedericka Hanuber was born in Cammerburg, Hanover, Germany, March 25, 1857, and passed away suddenly on Friday morning, July 26, 1918, aged 61 years, four months and one day. At the age of ten years she came to America with her parents and for several years the family made their home at College Pt., Long Island, where she was confirmed. From there they moved to Garnavillo, Iowa, where she was married Nov. 30, 18733, to Dietrich married Nov. 30, 1873 to Dietrich moved to a farm near Ossian, and then to Ossian, where they lived until 1917. Since then they made their home at Castalia. For several years her health had been poor. Two weeks ago she grew worse, but in a few days seemed better and on July 23rd went to visit at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. V. DeCou, where she was taken seriously ill. The Master had called, and in spite of all that loving hands could do she passed over the Divide to her eternal reward. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, four children- Mrs. Herman Lang of Frankville, Mrs. J. V. DeCou of Ossian, Mrs. Julius Brown and August; two sisters, Mrs. Alex. Bleyhl of Deerfield, N.D., and Mrs. Geo. Plagmann of Canistota, N.D., and sixteen grandchildren. She was a faithful and industrious wife, a loving and tender mother, a true and constant friend, loyal to her church and country. Her death was a shock to the community, who sympathize with the bereft ones in their great loss. The funeral was held in the Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Harms officiating. Interment in Pleasant View cemetery.

Mrs. Dietrick Peck passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John DeCou on Friday morning, after a few days illness. Funeral was held from the Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. W. Harms officiating with interment in Pleasant View cemetery.
