ASTHMA ATTACK FATAL TO JOSEPH ANDERSON
Joseph Anderson, 53 years old, died suddenly late Saturday night in Decorah immediately after an attack of cardiac or heart asthma while downtown. He is a bachelor and has been making his home in the northern part of the county with his brother, Lars. Joseph Anderson has been subject to such attacks as caused his death for several years. Three brothers and his mother have died in the past year. Another brother, Sam of La Crosse, and a sister, Mrs. John Stoskopf of near Highlandville survive.
Funeral services were held at J.M. Boehm's undertaking parlors at 2 P.M. Tuesday and at 3 P.M. from the Big Canoe church, Rev. T.O. Tolo officiating with burial in the nearby cemetery.

Decorah Public Opinion, June 16, 1932Joe Anderson Dies From Heart Attack Sat. Evening
Joe Anderson, well known Pleasant township farmer passed away suddenly in Decorah Saturday evening, June 11. About six o'clock he was taken ill and a physician was called, who diagnosed his case as cardiac asthma. He was placed in bed and advised to be quiet and rest. He died a short time later from a heart attack. He had been a sufferer from heart trouble and asthma, and the doctor's diagnosis was corroborated by his brother and sister.
The deceased was born in the county on Dec. 24, 1878, and was in his 54th year when death claimed him. His parents are both dead, and two brothers and one sister survive. They are Lars, living on the old homestead in Pleasant township, Sam of La Crosse and one sister, Bertha (Mrs. John Stoskopf) of Pleasant township, to whom the sympathy of many friends is extended. The deceased had many friends and was well liked by all.
The funeral services were held yesterday, Tuesday, from the Big Canoe church. Rev. T.O. Tolo officiated and interment was in the cemetery nearby.
