Dagmar A. Anderson, age 79, of Decorah, IA, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Stone Ridge Community Church in Decorah with Pastor Ed Krawczyk officiating.

Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Thursday, July 4 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Friday after 12:30 P.M., one hour before the service, at the church.

Dagmar was born on September 12, 1933 to Paul and Beulah Solberg of Houston, Minnesota. She and her husband Carrol attended an evangelistic meeting at First Baptist Church in Austin, Minnesota in 1951, where they both accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior. She served her Lord in many ways including teaching Sunday school, serving as a greeter, treasurer, leading Bible studies and always helping anyone with a need.

Dagmar worked for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance after attending Northeast Iowa Area Community College. She also worked in the administration department for the Decorah Community School District for 19 years and retired in 1994.

She was an active participant in the Red Hat Society, she served as a historian for the Luren Singers and was a caring and patient care giver to her husband. Dagmar enjoyed traveling and had visited Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Peru (on a missions trip) Canada, Mexico and Cuba.

Dagmar is survived by her husband Carrol Anderson; six children; Craig (Deb) of Geneseo, Illinois, Cherilyn Anderson Ross (Craig) of Johnston, Iowa, Ross (Sandy) of Ankeny, Iowa, Kerry (Tammy) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Scott (Sandy) of Spokane, Washington, and David (Michelle) of Robbinsville, New Jersey; her nine grandchildren: Heather Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Ashleigh Anderson (Cale), Nicole Miller, Kristen Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Athena Anderson, Michael Anderson and Mara Anderson, and by two great grandchildren, Taylor Hale and Daine Olson. Dagmar is also survived by her brother, Earl Solberg (Joan) of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.

Dagmar was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials can be sent to Stone Ridge Community Church, 1111 Montgomery St., Decorah, IA 52101, and will be used for the nursery department where Dagmar loved to serve.
