Sandra Osler, age 74, of Decorah, IA, died on Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Philip Gibbs presiding. Burial will be in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Friday morning.

Sandra Lea (Donovan) Osler was born on February 17, 1939, in New Albin, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Edna (Monnor) Donovan. Sandra attended Clear Creek rural schools until 8th grade and then graduated from New Albin High School in 1957. In 1962, she moved to Decorah and babysat for the Gjetley and Blodgett families and also took care of elderly people. Sandra married Virgil Osler on October 21, 1967, in New Albin, Iowa. They lived in Des Moines for ten years, raising Glenn Chambers their foster child from 1973 – 1977. They returned to Decorah in the fall of 1977 and bought a condo. In 1990, they built a new home that would accommodate Sandra to get around easier. Sandra was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where she helped volunteer when needed. She enjoyed going out for lunch with her friends.

Sandra is survived by her two sisters: Barbara Donovan, LaCrosse, WI, and Mona Eggan, Beloit, WI. Three brothers: David (Maritte) Donovan, Eau Claire, WI; Pat (Joan) Donovan, Beloit, WI; and Mike Donovan, Green Bay, WI. Sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Donovan, Cheryl Donovan, Ida Donovan, and Darla Donovan, all of Beloit, WI, along with several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil in Sept. 1995. Her parents: Herbert and Edna Donovan. Six brothers: Roger, Jim, Larry, Gene, Kenny and Dale Donovan.
