Liv 'Peggy' Dinger
Liv "Peggy" Dinger, 86, of Decorah, died Thursday, April 27, 1995, at her home.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, May 2, 1995, at 1 p.m., at First Lutheran Church in Decorah,with the Rev. Steven M. Jacobsen officiating. Joseph Childers will be the organist. The congregation will sing "Lord Bless this House," "Morning Has Broken" and "Rock of Ages."
Casket bearers will be Harvey Hanson, Durwin Hanson, Tom Fisher, Brian Dinger, Dr. David K. Bakken and Burton Gavle. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. The Fjelstul Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Liv "Peggy" (Hanson) Dinger was born Jan. 6, 1909, in Saude, Iowa, the daughter of Helmer and Liv (Lee) Hanson. She attended the Decorah School system. She married Roy L. Dinger at Little Brown Church, June 27, 1929. He died Jan. 5, 1977.
Peggy lived in Decorah area all her life. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and its church circles, the Canoe Ridge Ladies Circle, and she also taught Sunday School.
She also belonged to the Eastern Star, the Farm Bureau Women's Chorus, the Madison Willing Workers and the Senior Citizens. She worked some at Sunflower Care Center.
Survivors includes three children, Durwin and Sharon Dinger of St. Louis, Mo., Kathryn and Ray Berleyoung of Stewarts Point, Calif., and David and Carol Dinger of Decorah; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; two sisters, Ruby and Mabel; one brother,Harvey; and one grandson, Grant.
