Kathryne Moore rites Sunday

Kathryne Moore of Decorah died Monday, Feb. 21 at the Aase Haugen Home at the age of 84.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. at Steine Funeral Home. The Rev. Elmer Valen will officiate and Mrs. Otto Ruen will play the organ.

Kathryne Moore was born Sept. 21, 1898 in Winneshiek County to Henry and Anna (Walker) Moore. She attended Decorah public schools, the Julliard School of Music in Chicago and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

She taught piano in Chicago many years and also in Prescott, Ariz. where she moved in the late 1950's. She returned to Decorah to make her home in 1974 after she retired.

Miss Moore had never married. She is survived by two nephews, Robert Walker Moore and Michael Moore, a niece, Kay Moore Baker and a sister-in-law, Daisy Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Moore.
