J. Lewis Moore Dies Suddenly

John Lewis Moore, 69, rural mail carrier for twenty-seven years, died Tuesday morning, April 22, from a heart attack. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, at 1:30 at the Winneshiek Funeral home and 2:00 at the First Lutheran church. The Rev. T.A.Hoff officiated with burial in Phelps cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Don Flickenger, Oliver Faldet, Albert Womedorf, Clarence Jewell, Jimmie McAndrews, Theodore Swensen, Ben Rovang and E.C. Dirks.

Moore was born October 29, 1877, at Decorah, a son of Charles and Gustava Moore. He married Mattie Persse December 24, 1901.

Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Emma, Mrs. T.W. Fletcher of Sioux Falls, So. Dak., Richard of Havorstraw, N.Y.; Violet, Mrs H.H. Gosse, of Des Moines; Charles at home and Betty of Cresco, and 5 grandchildren.

Those from a distance expected for funeral services will be Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore of Havorstraw, N.Y., Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Gosse of Des Moines, Mrs. T.W. Fletcher of Sioux Falls, So. Dak., Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Jewell of Chicago, Mrs. Harold Myrick of LaPorte, Ind. and Kathryne Moore of Chicago.
