His health failed two years ago and the past year he has been almost blind and very sick, but has been tenderly cared for at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claude VanWey, assisted by her mother. During those long, weary days he was greatly cheered and comforted by relatives and friends and also by the pastor, Rev. J. C. B. Peck, from whom he received the sacrament of baptism.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Peck at the house at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon and the remains taken to Centennial for interment.
