Engbret Martinus Ellis
Engbret Martinus Ellis, 92, of 1904 6th Ave. N., a former hospital employee, died Sunday of pneumonia at a local hospital.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. O'Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Ellis was born Aug. 2, 1903, in Decorah, Iowa, where he was raised and educated. In 1925, he married Lucille Phelps in LaCrosse, Wis. They later divorced.
He worked at the Autolite factory in LaCrosse until it closed. He moved here in 1960 and worked at the Columbus Hospital until retiring in 1965.
Survivors include daughters, Francis L. Short of Great Falls and Darlene J. Cagle of LaCrosse; sons, Engbret M. Ellis Jr. of Olympia, Wash., James R. Ellis of Casa Grande, Ariz., Everett M. Ellis of LaCrosse and Robert Ellis of Lebanon, Tenn.; sisters, Mabel Hall of French Island, Wis., and Ida Bjork of Eau Claire, Wis.; 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Ellis.
