Funeral services for Clarence V. Knoke, 90, a retired Decorah farmer, are today (Thursday), December 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Locust.
Mr. Knoke died December 3 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah following a short illness.
Rev. Gerhard Brase conducted the services. Alan Sensor was organist, accompanying congregational singing. Sensor-French Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, with burial at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery at Locust.
Pallbearers were Walter Bender, Truman Kirkeby, Raymond Barth, Milo Noecker, Virgil Bender and Earl Knoke.
Clarence Knoke was born April 21, 1894 in Canoe Township. He was educated in rural schools and married Mildred Feltis on January 2, 1918 at Decorah. She preceded him in death in 1982. Mr. Knoke was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He also served as secretary of the Burr Oak – Mabel Telephone Company for 27 years.
Survivors include two children, George Knoke, R4, Decorah, and Mae Christopherson, 425 Purdy St., Jesup, Ia., seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Bennie Berg of Decorah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, Victor, in infancy.
