Postville Review, Fri., 8 Oct. 1915.
Decorah, Oct 7. - The southern part of Winneshiek County, from Calmar to the county line, was visited by a most severe thunderstorm Sunday. All of the creeks overflowed their banks. Peter Temp, Jr. had been to church at Calmar and on returning found a small creek on his farm a raging torrent. He started to drive through, but his sister, becoming frightened, jumped out. He kept on and when in the middle of the stream the horse became unhitched from the buggy and the vehicle was swept away. The buggy was overturned and the young man drowned. Searchers found his body under the buggy some distance below the ford.
