Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Schutte Funeral Home for Sara M. Smith, former resident of the Castalia Community, who died July 30. The Rev. Reynolds was in charge of the rites; burial was in Bloomfield cemetery.

Sara M. Smith was born at Castalia, the daughter of W. F. and Maria (Frisbee) Smith. She had lived with her brother, Andrew in Stuttgart, Arkansas and for the past 35 years has made her home in Minneapolis. She was a member of the Hennepin Methodist Church and the Dorcas Circle of the church.

She belonged to the Postville Eastern Star for over 45 years.

She had been in failing health for the past 6 months and on Thursday, July 30, she suffered a severe stroke and passed away the same day.

She is survived by a nephew, Dwight Sawyer and Agnes Mulfinger.
