Ronald Hovey

Ronald D. Hovey, 73, of Fort Collins, died Sept. 16, 2012, at McKee Medical Center, Pathways Hospice Unit. A Memorial service is Friday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Stuart. Inurnment follows at Grandview Cemetery.

Mr. Hovey was born Feb. 17, 1939, in Decorah, to Clarence and Vera Hovey. Ron married Joan E. Vick Sept. 17, 1966, in Decorah. They moved to Fort Collins, Colo. in 1970. Ron retired from Yellow Freight as a truck driver. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Moose Lodge No. 274, and the Elks Lodge No. 804.

Survivors include his son, Jeff Hovey of Boise, Idaho; daughter, Kim Witman of Fort Collins; sister, Norma Schrandt of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren: Miranda Minton, Nichole Skjerbek, Larry Witman, Lucie and Oliver Hovey; and four great-grandchildren, Ben, Mia, Wyatt and Elijah.

Preceding Ronald in death are his wife, Joan in 2003 and his son, Randy Hovey, in 1984.
