Jeff Willingham
Jeff Willingham, 52, passed away Feb. 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A Celebration of Life service is Monday, Feb. 20, at The Chapel at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, Minn. A social gathering is at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10-11 a.m. service. All are welcome.
Jeff, the son of Edward L. and Inez Willingham and beloved brother of Guy Willingham was born in Chicago, Ill. and later moved to Decorah. Jeff attended South Winneshiek High School. He is a U of M ’84 graduate with a B.E. and computer science degree. He resided in Minneapolis, Minn., and recently in San Francisco, Calif.
A veteran of the technology industry, Jeff began his career as a systems analyst with Northwest Airlines (’88); other work included accenture partner, Technology Practice (’93) and cognizant-practice leader, Life Sciences Practice (’08). Recently, he joined Salesforce.com as director of customer success, and opened a UPS Store (’06), in partnership with friend Robbie Leonard, in Japan Town in San Francisco.
Jeff cherished intellectual pursuits, philosophical conversation, dogs, tennis, traveling, snowboarding, cinema, weekends in Sonoma and adventures with friends. He will be forever remembered for his loving nature, kind heart, infectious laughter and smile.
Jeff is survived by his mother, brother, aunts, uncles, nieces and special friend, Drake Ephron, his beloved dog, Dash, and many loyal friends.
