Gerhardt R. Gunderson

Gerhardt R. Gunderson, 75, died suddenly at Lewiston Villa Monday, Feb. 13, 2012. A private memorial service is planned for Saturday, Feb. 18.

Gerhardt was born in Winneshiek County at the home of his parents, Ralph and Mary (DeCou) Gunderson, Aug. 25, 1936.

He graduated from Mabel High School in Mabel, Minn. and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of Minnesota. Gerhardt spent most of his working career in Minneapolis until he retired and moved to Winona, Minn. in 2001, where he lived until 2006 when he moved to the Lewiston Villa in Lewiston, Minn.

He is survived by his brother, Herbert (Heide) Gunderson of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sisters, Maryann (David) Forsythe of Winona and Bette (Walter) Josephson of Rochester, Minn.; several nieces and nephews; and very dear friend, Sarah James, of Minneapolis.
