Norman Rosholt
Norman T. Rosholt, 88, of Decorah, formerly of Brooklyn Center, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Evans Nordby Funeral Home, 6000 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. A memorial service is at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, 5929 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center. Interment is at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, Luther College or First Lutheran Church Food Pantry of Decorah.
Rosholt was a captain in the Air Force and a B17 Pilot in WWII. He completed 31 ½ missions and was shot down and taken as a prisoner of war. He was Minnesota state commander of ex-prisoners of war 1999-2001 and commander of the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Military Order of the Purple Heart from 2002-2004.
Norman graduated from Luther College. He was employed by Lutheran Brotherhood of Systems Development for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Darlene; children: Susan Schumann, Greg (Sue), Bruce and Jan (Mike) Tschantz; grandchildren: Erik (Faith) Schumann, Leah Schumann, Ben (Meghan) Rosholt, Peter Rosholt, Luke Tschantz, Molly Tschantz and Emily (Adam) Franklin; great-grandchildren: Noah, Isaac and Elsie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edith, step-mother, Amalia; brother, Jerry.
