Truman E. Hove, age 93, of Decorah, IA, died suddenly Thursday, August 30, 2012, on his farm west of Decorah.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012, at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, in Decorah. Burial will be in the Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, rural Decorah.
Friends may call after 12:00 Noon on Sunday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, in Decorah.
Truman Everrett Hove was born on April 21, 1919, the son of Andrew and Anna (Knudtson) Hove near Decorah, IA. Truman was baptized and confirmed in his Lutheran faith. Truman attended rural country schools near the Washington Prairie Lutheran and Ossian areas as well as the Blount Country School. He helped his family on the farm and farmed throughout his lifetime. Truman sold tickets at Luther College athletic events and also at Matters Ballroom. Truman enjoyed bowling and pitching horseshoes with Ernie Soland. Truman was an usher at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah.
Truman is survived by his cousins: Gloria Hove, Decorah, IA; Wayne (Diana) Hove, Kankakee, IL; and Curtis (Carolyn) Nelson, Eau Claire, WI, along with many other cousins and friends.
Truman was preceded in death by his parents: Anna Hove in 1987 and Andrew Hove 1991.
