Donna Johnson
Donna Lynn Johnson, 46, of Elgin, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at her home. Funeral services were 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Elgin Lutheran Church in Elgin. Friends called Friday, Dec. 2, from 3-7 p.m. t the Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Elgin and one hour before services at the church Saturday. Burial was in the Elgin Cemetery. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Elgin was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.graufuneralhomes.com .
Donna, the daughter of Donald and Alice (Holthaus) Scheidel, was born April 29, 1965, in Decorah. She grew up on a farm south of Festina. Donna was baptized, received first communion and was confirmed at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina. Donna graduated from North Winneshiek High School in 1983 and attended Northeast Iowa Community College. Donna was united in marriage with James Johnson Sept. 10, 1983. They were later divorced. Two sons, Jordan and Ryan, were born to this union. Donna worked at Moore’s Grocery Store in Elgin and for the past 20-plus years has worked at Fauser Energy in Elgin, a job she truly loved.
She was a member of the Elgin Lutheran Church and had been a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed bike riding, walking, camping, scrapbooking with friends and the Fort Atkinson Rendezvous.
Donna is survived by her two sons, Jordan (Jade Addengast) Johnson of Sheldon and Ryan (Carly Liebe) Johnson of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Alice Scheidel of Decorah; her brothers and sister: Tim (Jane) Scheidel of Lawler; Terry (Julie) Scheidel of Decorah; Cindy (Roger) Luhring of Tripoli; Ted (Mary) Scheidel of Shell Rock; Todd (Cathy) Scheidel of Elgin; Tom (Shannon) Scheidel of Garwin; and Tony (Megan) Scheidel of Decorah; her ex-husband, Jim Johnson, of Elgin; and many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Don, and her nephew, Levi Scheidel.
