Buel Medford Swiggum

A Worship Service for the Living for Buel Medford Swiggum is Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at Decorah Lutheran Church. There is no visitation. The family prefers no flowers but rather that you support your own favorite charity.

Buel Medford Swiggum was born July 23, 1923, to Palmer and Ida (Halverson) on the family farm near Soldiers Grove, Wis. He was baptized and confirmed at the North Kickapoo Lutheran Church.

He attended rural school graduating from Solders{sp} Grove High School. He was united in marriage May 16, 1948, to Eunice J. Johnson at the Benton Lutheran Church, Norway, Ia. To this union were born three children: David (Myrna), Lois (Tom) and Ruth (Gene), followed by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine, and a sister-in-law, Jean, plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Peter.
