Marlyse Neuzil
Marlyse Neuzil, 81, formerly of Spring Valley, Minn. and the Fort Atkinson area, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at the Stewartville Care Center. Funeral Mass for Marlyse M. Neuzil was 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Little Turkey. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley, Minn., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The visitation continued at the church in Little Turkey Wednesday morning starting at 9 a.m. and ran until the time of service. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Marlyse was born Nov. 16, 1929, near Ft. Atkinson, to William and Emma (Novak) Jirak. Following the death of her father when she was five years old, she devoted her life to caring for her mother. Marlyse was united in marriage to Frank E. Neuzil at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Little Turkey May 28, 1951, and together they farmed the family farm where she was born and raised. Frank passed away Oct. 18, 1990. In 1996 she moved to Spring Valley, Minn., where she lived with her daughter Carol. Marlyse was a member of the Jackson Homemakers and the 500 card club for over 30 years. She was a member of Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Little Turkey and was a member of the Assumption Rosary Society. After moving to Spring Valley she became a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She also served as a volunteer at the Spring Valley Care Center and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three children; Galen (Teresa) Neuzil of Mantorville, Minn., Carol (Kevin Levos) Neuzil of Spring Valley, Minn. and Kevin (Mary Ann) Neuzil of Cresco; four grandchildren: Rachel Brandon, Megan and Aaron; one brother, Melvin (Eleanor) Jirak of Spillville; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
