Geneva ‘Dolly’ Hansen

Geneva “Dolly” Hansen, 87, of Bloomington Minn., passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband by her side and was taken to heaven Oct. 10, 2011. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Emmaus Free Lutheran Church, 8443 2nd Ave. So, Bloomington, Minn. Visitation is one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the family or to donor’s choice.

Geneva grew up on her parent’s farm, graduated from Decorah High School and was united in marriage 62 years ago to Bertin Hansen in a double-wedding ceremony with her cousin, Irene (Hippe) and Kenny Johnson. Geneva devoted her life to her family and friends; she enjoyed gardening, baking and reading. She will be deeply missed by all she touched.

She is survived by her husband, Bertin; daughters, Diane (Joel) Swanson and Linda Melena; son, Gary (Lois) Hansen; grandchildren, Travis and Brock Swanson. They were blessed to have this wonderful woman as their wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Hilda Lee of Calmar.
