Ellingson

Funeral services for Erick O. Ellingson, 89, who passed away at his home in Lincoln township Tuesday were held at 1:30 o’clock at the house and at 2 o’clock at the Lincoln Lutheran church Friday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. M. B. Quill, officiated and interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.

The pallbearers were Steen Johnson, Elmer Hove, John Albertson, Nels Iverson, John Ellingson and Chris. Trytten.

Among those from a distance attending the funeral were Ed Hedlund, William Thurman and Mrs. Vance Martin of Minneopalis{sp}, and Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Livingston of Algona.

Erick O. Ellingson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Ellingson, was born at Capron, Ill., Feb. 14, 1855, where he grew to young manhood. He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Opstedahl at the Lincoln church by Rev. Moses Sep. 17, 1882. They first made their home at Jasper, S. D., where they lived a year before coming to Winneshiek county to reside on a farm 5 miles south of Ridgeway. For the past 25 years they have lived on the farm where he passed away ¼ mile east of Ridgeway.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Edwin and Elmer Ellingson of Brinsmade, N. D., Albert Ellingson of Ridgeway, one daughter Birdie Ellingson of Ridgeway, two brothers, John of Capron, Ill., and Joe of Poplar Grove, Ill., two sisters, Miss Emma Ellingson of Capron, Ill., and Mrs. Ellen Engebretson of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. One son Ole, and two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
