Mrs. Wm. Kuntz

Funeral services for Mrs. William Kuntz, 82, are to be held at 2:00 o’clock this Wednesday afternoon at the Ridgeway Methodist church with Rev. T. M. Nielsen, pastor of the Cresco Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be made at Ridgeway.

Mrs. Kuntz died in Mercy hospital at 9:00 o’clock Monday morning, May 22, following a few days illness.

Elizabeth Kuster, daughter of John and Barbara Kuster, was born in Switzerland, Jan. 4, 1857, and came to America with her parents when she was two years old.

In 1887 she was married to William Kuntz and to this union five children were born, all of whom survive with the father. Mrs. Kuntz spent nearly all her life on a farm in Winneshiek county, moving to Cresco only three years ago.

She was a life long member of the Methodist church and was affiliated with the Missionary society for many years. Because of her inability to hear well, she seldom attended public gatherings, and was happy to remain in her home with her family and friends.

Her five surviving children are Walter and Irvin Kuntz of Ridgeway, Mrs. Alma Reinhart of Alta Vista, Mrs. Clara Bruckmeyer of Lime Springs and Elmer Kuntz, Cresco. She also leaves one brother, Peter Kuster of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Maggie Frobish of Fly, Ohio; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was a good woman and full of years, and of such the words are “blessed are those who die in the Lord, for they rest from their labors and their works do follow them.”
