Services held for Linda Neuzil, 57
Funeral services for Linda “Lynn” Neuzil of Fort Atkinson were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7 at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Chekal Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Linda, 57, died Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a brave battle against cancer.
Linda Annette Neuzil was born on April 26, 1944 in Tooele, UT, the daughter of Lonnie and Wanda (Beatty) Vandenack. Lynn attended school in Sentinel, OK and then moved with her family in 1951 to Chowchilla, where she graduated from Chowchilla High School in 1962.
Lynn married Lester Hope in 1963 in Carson City, NV and to this union five children were born. They were later divorced. Lynn then married Steven Neuzil on April 18, 1987 in Eldorado. She worked at Heying Foods in West Union for 20 years and then at Calmar Foods. In 1997 she went to work for Nitty’s Iron and Metal in Fort Atkinson and then to LeRoy Iron and Metal in LeRoy, MN.
She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, cooking, fishing, camping and riding motorcycle with her husband. She is survived by her husband Steven of Fort Atkinson; two daughters: Lori Funk of Madison, NE and Martha Hope of Eldorado; three sons: Marty Hope of Farmersburg, Daniel Hope of Randalia, and Chadd Hope of Eldorado; two grandchildren; her mother: Wanda Vandenack of Chowchilla, CA; and two brothers: Dan Vandenack of Chowchilla, CA and Ace Vandenack of Myers Plat, CA.
Linda was preceded in death by her father: Lonnie Vandenack in 1997 and her grandparents.
