Services held for Ione McIntyre

Memorial services for Ione McIntyre were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11 at the Conway Funeral Home in Cresco with Pastor Tim Sir officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Ione, 65, died Saturday, November 8, 2003 at the Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.

Ione Inas McIntyre was born September 19, 1938 in Bluffton Township, Winneshiek County, the daughter of Donald and Leona (Bentley) Huckins. She lived with her grandparents while she attended the rural school in Bluffton Township, later attending the rural school south east of Cresco.

Ione had a deep affection for the outdoors and animals, especially her dog Bear, parakeets and fish. She belonged to the Monarch Watch Club. She also liked to garden, take care of her house plants, and cook.

She is survived by her children: Randy of Decorah, Lonie of Decorah, Sherman of LeRoy, MN, Kenny of Waukon, Jim of Larned, KS, and Allen of Illinois; 18 grandchildren; two brothers: Kenneth of California and William of Mt. Moris,{sic} IL; one sister: Sandra Capp of Mt. Morris, IL, and a half brother: Tom Smith of Cresco.

Ione was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Donald Huckins, Jr.; and two sisters: Sharon Malli and Isabelle Gates.
