Isabelle Ida Gates, 62, services held

Funeral services for Isabella Ida Gates were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco with interment in the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton. The Rev. Lewis Flanigan officiated.

Isabelle, 62, died July 14, 1998 in Elkader.

She was born August 31, 1935, the daughter of Donald and Leona Huckins in Bluffton. She was the oldest of eight children.

Following her schooling, she was united in marriage to George William Gates, Jr. on December 23, 1950. They have resided in Elkader for the past seven years.

Survivors include her husband, George; daughters: Kathy Gates, Karen Gates, Kate Dundee, and Kristine Gates; and sons: Larry Gates, Gary Gates, Terry Gates; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; brothers: Kenny Huckins, Tom Smith and Billy Huckins; and sisters: Ione McIntyre and Sandy Capps.
