Jack Mara died at the county home at 2:30 .a. m. Sunday morning, April 10, 1938, following an illness of heart trouble. He was 75 years old. The body was brought to the Thomas & Town funeral home and on Tuesday morning funeral services were held at nine o'clock at the Assumption church. Burial was in the family lot in St. Bridget's cemetery at Bluffton.

Pallbearers were D. Sexton, T. J. Sexton, Will McCormick, Herbert Henry, Thos. Carolan and Luke Courtney.

Deceased was born in Bluffton Township, Winneshiek County. He was the son of Patrick and Johanna Mara. He is survived by one brother, Mike Mara of Bluffton Township, a sister who lives at Mitchell, S. D., and a niece, Mrs. Frank Shields of Decorah.
