Bernard O. Williams, age 87, of Decorah, Iowa, died Friday, August 24, 2007 at Wellington Place in Decorah.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, August 27, 2007 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah by Rev. Bryan Robertson. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah with full military honors.

Friends may call after 10:30 A.M. Monday at Fjelstul Funeral Home.

Bernard Orville Williams was born December 5, 1919 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Albert and Sophie (Nesheim) Williams. He graduated from Decorah High School. Bernard served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Bernard worked in construction and did cement work for many years. He was formerly employed by Roverud Construction in Spring Grove, MN. and Johnson Brothers Construction in LaCrosse, WI.

He was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church. Bernard enjoyed the outdoors and was fond of fishing and hunting.

He became a resident of Wellington Place on May 30, 2001.

Survivors include several nieces, Sandra (Robert) Frana of Decorah, Kay (Steve) Stroh of Indianola, IA, Gail Williams of Oregon, Linda Styve of Waterloo, IA and Carol Reed of Lincoln, NE.; several great nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Clara Williams of Decorah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Leon, Arnold, Norris and Lowell Williams and two sisters, Selma Irvin and Helen Smith.
